Yates grad Gardner helps in SFA win

Yates High School graduate Darius Gardner played for Stephen F. Austin State University in its 78-67 win at home over Lubbock Christian Saturday, Dec. 15 at Johnson Coliseum in Nacogdoches, the team's website reported.

The junior guard helped the Lumberjacks improve to 7-1 on the season. SFA's next game is 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18 at Oklahoma.

Gardner lettered all four years while playing at Yates in 2006-2010. He was also a four-time honoree on the All-State team while also receiving four straight All-District and All-City honors. Gardner achieved off the court as well, graduating near the top of his class. He is the son of Edward Gardner and Tracy Brown.
