Houston ISD superintendent credits principals for bond passages
Houston Independent School District Superintendent Terry Grier thanked principals for helping to pass bond measures Nov. 6.
The bond measures passed by a margin of more than 2:1. They will have an impact on millions of children throughout the state, according to a press release from the school district.
The money will be used to improve 38 schools with rebuilding and renovation projects, according to the release. In addition to these projects, Houston schools will receive funding for technology upgrades, athletic facility improvements, middle school restroom renovations, and districtwide safety and security improvements.
Grier credited principals with the passing of the measures because of their efforts to educate voters on the issue.
