Landlord sues tenant over commercial lease in Montrose
A landlord is suing after, it says, it lost money when a company backed out a lease agreement for office space in Montrose.
Yarico, Inc. filed a lawsuit on Aug. 26 in the Harris County District Court against Gulfstream Legal Group, citing breach of contract, common law fraud, statutory fraud and negligent misrepresentation.
Yarico says that it agreed to lease Gulfstream Legal 5,660 square feet of commercial space in its office building, located at 2600 Southwest Freeway in Montrose. According to the brief, Yarico agreed to perform quickly the construction needed to accommodate Gulfstream Legal’s specific requirements.
The suit alleges that after Yarico changed the space as required by Gulfstream, the company breached their agreement by failing to move in and pay rent.
