UST to present conference on social justice
The University of St. Thomas will host its Rev. William J. Young Social Justice Summer Conference June 9 and June 10 at the Houston campus.
Church globalization, Catholic social teaching, immigration, the death penalty and abortion, among other contemporary issues in social justice, will be examined at the event.
Keynote speakers include Bishop Ricardo Ramirez, CSB, Bishop of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Fr. Fred Kammer SJ, Jesuit Social Research Institute at Loyola University. Daniel Cardinal DiNardo will serve as the celebrant at the opening liturgy. Bishop Ramirez will give a Spanish version of his keynote address on June 9 at 7:30 p.m.
