Visually impaired artists to exhibit watercolors
The Lighthouse of Houston will host an Art and Wine event on Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Vaughan Christopher Gallery.
The event, which runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., will feature 24 watercolors by 19 artists who are blind or visually impaired. The art is centered around a theme of the four seasons.
The Lighthouse held Houston's first art show and reception featuring work by artists who are blind or visually impaired in June 2009. Most of the more than 50 framed paintings were sold that evening. This year's artwork will also be available for purchase.
The Vaughan Christopher Gallery is located at 1217 S. Shepherd Drive.
Established in 1939, The Lighthouse of Houston is a private, non-profit education and service center dedicated to assisting blind and visually impaired people to live independently. The Lighthouse is a United Way of Greater Houston agency.
