Houston Area Women's Center fundraiser to feature Joan Rivers

Celebrity Joan Rivers will perform at the Houston Area Women's Center's annual fundraising gala, "Glamour, Glitz and Grins: Joan Rivers on the Red Carpet" on May 6.
The event will be held in the new Westin Hotel Memorial City and will support the Houston Area Women’s Center, which operates the only Houston rape crisis hotline and Houston residential shelter for victims of domestic and sexual violence.
Fox 26 anchor and reporter Melinda Spaulding and CBS Radio MIX 96.5 personality and emcee Ayana Mack will co-host the festivities. The evening will start with an extravagant red carpet entrance experience for guests, followed by a reception, seated dinner and the performance by Rivers. The event will conclude with an invitation-only VIP backstage access hour with Rivers.
During the evening, the Women's Center will also pause to honor longtime community supporters Linda and Howard McCollum and corporate supporter, El Paso Corp.
